Hamilton Princess Hosts Taxi Appreciation Day

Saying that they provide an “invaluable service and are front line ambassadors”, the Fairmont Hamilton Princess hosted 91 taxi drivers at their Taxi Appreciation Day at on Friday, June 11, with the hotel offering a prize draw for one driver to win a weekend stay at the hotel.

Taxi driver Clarkson “Cupid” Trott Smith of Devonshire was the lucky winner, with all other drivers receiving a complimentary continental breakfast in the hotel’s front garden and a booklet containing personal discounts at the hotel’s restaurants.

Rehanna Palumbo, director of the hotel’s sales & marketing said they were inspired to host the event as “Many of the drivers are like extended family and have been bringing guests to our hotel for years.” She went on to explain that “The taxi drivers work long hours, perform an invaluable service and are front-line ambassadors both for our hotel and the island. We really appreciate what they do and planned this event so we could tell them in person.”
