Two 16 Yr Olds Attacked in Sandys

The Police have confirmed that two 16 yr old males were attacked early this morning [June 26] at a residence on Tankard Lane in Sandys Parish, with one receiving what the Police term “multiple lacerations to his body.”

Saying that details surrounding the assault remain sketchy, the Police say it appears that a group of individuals came to the Sandys parish residence and attacked the two teenagers.

A police spokesman said that around 1:37 this morning, Police received a report that a 16 year old male was dropped off at Port Royal Fire Station with multiple lacerations to his body. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries, while the other, also 16, suffered a swollen eye.

Police are appealing for witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit at 234-1010 or the confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.

Update June 27: The victim is being treated on a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, and it is anticipated that he will be released in the near future.
