Photos: Waves Crashing at Spittal Pond

September 4, 2010

For the third time this hurricane season, a weather system weakened as it approached Bermuda, sparing the island from any ill effects. Tropical Storm Fiona was due to come within 10 miles of Bermuda early this morning [Sept 4], however last night it was downgraded to a depression, and at 11:40pm last night the US National Hurricane Service downgraded it further to a remnant low.

The weather system was forecast to pass by Bermuda at approximately 8am this morning, which is when the photos below picturing the waves crashing in at Spittal Pond in Smiths were taken.
