It’s the traffic lights, my friend actually drove by as it happened.
I’m sure I am not the only one to turn a corner and discover traffic in an unexpected place due to temp traffic lights.

I feel you on that. i almost got rear ended this morning at the same place.

The traffic lights have been there for some time now and are moving closer and closer to dockyard where they will end.. If you dont know about them by now something is wrong. Also they have signs at either ends before the lights warning people that there is traffic control ahead. glad he is safe and didnt get seriously hurt. people please please take your time on these roads and be aware of your surroundings.

If they keep moving how are we supposed to know where they are? When someone rear ends a bike and hurts somebody are you going to say “well you knew there was surprise traffic lights in the west end, should have been driving at 5k just incase you encounter a stopped bus behind a blind corner?”

I think they’re dangerous and it’s amazing how nobodies been really hurt (that I’m aware of). I’ve personally been on the back of the bike where we almost hit a truck going up onto south shore from middle road due to temporary traffic lights

Traffic control can mean “man with a stop sign” or “300 miles of unexpected traffic due to 30 min wait traffic light”.

If that’s what happened I really feel for this guy .. Yesterday in the near darkness I was behind an east bound car just on the other (blind) side of the corner and I knew that if I stayed there I was in danger of some car coming around the corner , speeding heading towards Hamilton. I moved to a position more beside the car to safeguard myself… I knew it was going to happen eventually.

Good luck in your recovery little guy !

ps .. the camber on that corner is all wrong too… especially for bikers if the road is wet.

I pass that Granaway Heights Lane twice a day heading to/from Dalton E Primary school and that spot now combined with the traffic lights is another accident waiting to happened ion several instances in the past two weeks, I have had to turn on my hazard lights to give caution to whoever is travelling behind me (esp if they haven’t travelled in the west lately to even be aware of the traffic lights)
