Miss Bermuda Pageant To Make A Comeback

November 27, 2010

tiara 2010It appears that the Miss Bermuda Beauty Pageant is set to make a comeback in 2011.

A new website and Facebook page ‘The Miss Bermuda Pageant’ has been launched. The text from the Facebook page says that “For the first time in over 10 years, Blanc Limited will be producing The Miss Bermuda Pageant.”

“Scheduled to take place in the summer of 2011, the pageant promises to be a very popular event as intelligent and beautiful young women ages 18-25, showcase these attributes on stage.”

The pageant has not been held for a number of years, after being a steady fixture for many years.

Miss Bermuda winners from the past have done quite well on an international level; Gina Swainson won the Miss World Pageant in 1979 [video], Zina Minks made the top 15 in the 1980 Miss World Pageant [video], and forty years ago Margaret Hill won the Miss Photogenic award at the 1970 Miss Universe [photo] – joining the first group of black women to capture major beauty titles.
