Tonight: Daylight Saving Time Ends

November 6, 2010

Daylight Saving Time ends tonight, with time being “turned back” one hour at exactly 2am on Sunday November 7th. Daylight Saving Time started in March 2010.

Daylight saving time is the practice of temporarily advancing clocks during the summertime so that afternoons have more daylight and mornings have less. Typically clocks are adjusted forward one hour near the start of spring and are adjusted backward in autumn. The practice was first proposed in 1895 by George Vernon Hudson.

  1. Time traveller says:

I wish they would end daylight savings nonsense and leave the time as it is.

  2. Call as it is says:

Remember to set the clocks back 1 hour so if u start humping at 1.59am that means that in 1 minute you will have humped 1 hour!

Whats the issue? Try living somewhere that is right on a timezone line. Millions do & they survive the daily compensation for a different timezone right across a bridge or next town only a few miles away.

Think of it, you can leave for an appointment after the appointment time & still arrive in plenty of time for your appointment. You can also leave for the appointment in good time but be over an hour late.

When our kids were in school we used to change the clocks on the Sunday night. This gave everyone an extra hours sleep Monday morning. Niice!

Bermuda, get over it. There are far more important issues to worry about.

  4. Mildred Mellie says:

They should leave time alone. That extra hour of daylight bleached my curtains.

  5. Roger says:

Mildred … where have you been ? Seriously missed you POV on everything ! !
