Video: Premier Cox Speaks After Throne Speech

November 8, 2010

Bermuda’s 2010 Throne Speech gives a “tantalising hint” of the agenda Premier Paula Cox’s Government intends to pursue in the coming year — a programme aimed at social cohesiveness, public safety and prosperity.

Speaking to the media after Governor Sir Richard Gozney delivered the Speech from the Throne at the reconvening of Parliament Friday, Premier Cox said fiscal prudence and financial discipline would be the twin hallmarks of her Government. The Bermuda taxpayer, she said, would receive value for money as Government moved to both cut costs and improve public services.

Premier Cox stressed there would be a renewed Government emphasis on shoring up the twin pillars of Bermuda’s economy, the off-shore financial services sector and the hospitality industry. And she said there would be a particular focus on public education to ensure the next generation of Bermudians are well-placed to take full advantage of the island’s employment opportunities.

I’m no fashion guy…but it looks like the Premier has been (passing on Bermuda and) shopping in Ghana.

        To Peter,
What’s wrong with buying a beautiful product, Kudoos to Ghana. Are you using the the BDA as a vehicle to advance your personal agenda as a silent, stealth hidden racist. Why would you select Ghana,a Black Nation that gained Indpendence from Britain? It is a pleasure to buy from Ghana or any other country that produces and manufactures goods that fit our needs etc. Check your history ( you already know). What else is,and or in/on your mind but will not say it publicly.

        • Peter Barrett says:

I would say publically to live in Ghana. And grow up.

  2. Mike says:

Her and Aretha are running a contest.
