Mirrors Volunteers At Windreach

December 15, 2010

Mirrors programme participants and their life coaches volunteered their time on Saturday (Dec. 11) at Windreach Recreational Village. During their day there they bathed various animals, swept the facility’s floors and hung Christmas decorations — to name just a few activities.

This event was held as an expression of the Mirrors Programmme’s commitment to the development and transformation of our community. The community service project is an opportunity for Mirrors to thank the community for their support and dedication that it has shown to the programme.

Mirrors participants were given the opportunity to choose an organisation that they would like to give back to. They decided to volunteer at Windreach after learning what Windreach offers the community in terms of support for people with special needs (some of the participants are shown above at Saturday’s project). Mirrors will continue to work in partnership with other community based programmes in an effort to transform the lives of our young people.

Programme and Events Coordinator at Windreach Ms Natasha Dowling said: “You guys at Mirrors are doing an awesome job! What you do is something I wholeheartedly encourage our community to invest in. I must also add what a great help the young men were today and how impressed I was by their dedication to the work asked of them.”

The Minister would like to invite the public to continue to support this programme. Join us as we continue to transform our community, one person at a time. For more information on how you can play a part in the Mirrors Program call 294-9291 or email mirrors@gov.bm .
