Videos: Tipped Truck Dragged from Yard

December 21, 2010

After hours of work and use of some heavy machinery, the sanitation truck that had unceremoniously crashed into someone’s yard after a road collapse was removed today [Dec 21]. The truck was traveling on the residential Warwick road when the road caved in, and fortunately the driver was spared from injury. The truck is pictured below prior to the effort to move it began:

Workers arrived this morning and after some adjustments used a crane to tilt the truck upright:

The truck was then dragged up the now non-existent road:

    • Call as it is says:

      Terry,
IF you had done your homework you would have read that it was put back on it’s tires by a Crane.

  3. Terry says:

Yeah …so what. That has nothing to do with my comments about the chain, self power et al.

If your gonna call it…………..call it right.

    • Call as it is says:

Terry,’there’s a useful four letter word and you are full of it..
(Clue? that truck is usually full of it).

Were you not ever told the job is not done if you don’t do your paperwork

  4. ACT LIKE YOU KNOW says:

After my 30 yrs of emergency services fire & Rescue work, I always think “Safety First”. Some of those men were standing far to close to that under stress/tension chain.
Snap! and off goes a head or a leg.
    Stay back!

    • White Jesus says:

We hear what your saying Arthur but then how could they get on camera and be famous if they stood back?

  6. @myself says:

The question remains – who approved the structual soundness of that private road? Clearly the rain had taken its toll on it – had that been an Emergancy Vehicle going to someone’s aid what wold have happened then?

  7. Cinderella says:

This is a great time to learn how to build a strong ramp that would hold an ambulance and people. We are happy it was a slow roll with no injuries. Merry Christmas guys!

  8. Annette says:

It’s amazing to see the video but did anyone think of how the people in the house felt when the truck crashed into their yard. There are two elderly persons living in that house and it is a shame that the landlord never saw fit to fix the driveway, you can clearly see that it was in need of repair. The landlord should be held partially reasonanble for not making thr necessary repairs to fix this driveway. Whar would have happened if it collasped when one of the 70 year old ladies was walking down to the door? the driveway has been cracking for years but nothing was ever done. This was just an accident waiting to happen
