Officials Selected: ICC Americas U19 Champs

Mr. Llewellyn Hall from Western Stars has been selected to be an official scorer at the Pepsi ICC Americas Region U19 Division 1, to be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, February 6 – 13, 2011.

This follows the success in February 2010 when Ms. Lovette Dickinson from St. Georges CC and Mr. Llewellyn Hall from Western Stars, scored at the ICC Americas Division 2 Championship in the Bahamas.

In addition, Mr. Steven Douglas and Mr. Richard Austin who have been selected from the ICC Americas ‘A’ Panel of Umpires to officiate the U19 Division 1 tournament. The tournament is a round robin format made up of teams from Argentina, Bermuda, Bahamas, Canada, USA and Cayman Islands. The top two teams in this tournament will qualify to compete in the ICC U19 World Cup Global Qualifier scheduled to take place in Ireland in July against eight other teams, four regions of which six will qualify for the 2012 ICC U19 World Cup.

President of the Bermuda Cricket Board, Mr. Reginald Pearman stated: “Once again I am delighted to see that Bermudian officials are getting recognition and experience at the international level. As more of our officials get the chance to demonstrate their skills and expertise the opportunities for our officials to represent Bermuda overseas continue to increase. I would also like to congratulate Roger Dill who has been reappointed to the ICC Associate and Affiliate International Umpires Panel. Roger is qualified to officiate ODIs and T20 matches involving Associates and Affiliates Members as well as well as under-19 and women’s cricket across the world.”
