Skipper Still Going Strong: Wins in Virginia

Skipper fistVeteran martial artist Frederick “Skipper” Ingham won the Men’s Over 40 forms at the John Chung’s 2010 World Cup Finals Martial Arts Championship held on January 14 and 15 in Reston, Virginia.

Mr Ingham, now 80 years old, competed in the over 40 category, and picked up yet another win to add to his collection.

Showing himself to be one of Bermuda’s most enduring athletes, Mr Ingham’s career has spanned decades.

The winner of numerous international titles, he was inducted into the Bermuda Sports Hall of Fame, is the first and only martial artist from Bermuda to be awarded the Queen’s Certificate and he is the first and only Bermudian featured on the cover of an international martial arts magazine. He holds a tenth degree black belt in the USA Doju and a seventh degree in Okinawan doju.
