1BrianNicBermuda husband-and-wife duo Brian and Nic Swan — who perform as 1undread — are introducing their unique sound which combines electronic beats, jazz basslines and a soulful voice to Pennsylvania audiences this weekened.

They are among the 300 musical acts appearing at Harrisburg’s  15th Millenium Music Conference. While the event provides musicians with information and networking opportunities, Harrisburg residents enjoy lots of live performances in more than 30 venues.

The Bermuda couple’s appearance has been highlighted in the Harrisburg media, with one critic saying ”1undread’s thick, bassy dubstep is truly captivating … So if you’re into dubstep, try to head to [their performances] because they probably won’t be back in the US for a while.”

Bermudian music teacher Mr. Swan and his wife British-born wife Nic will be performing at least two gigs at the Harrisburg  festival which kicks off today [Feb. 18].

“What’s 1undread about? Too many influences to list without reading this next week and wanting to add more,” the couple have said in their official biography “So, trip-hop,D&B,Dub/dubstep, Jazz, rare groove …

“1undread’s sound has one foot firmly rooted in Jazz, while the other steps in the direction of cutting edge experimentation, dubstep, glitch-hop, and jungle

Mr. Swan is bass player, composer and producer for iundread while Mrs. Swan — a one-time DJ and session singer – provides vocals and shares the production duties.  They met in Leeds in 1997 when Mr. Swan was studying in the UK and formed 1undread soon after. The personal chemistry between the two was as strong as the creative energy and they married in 1999.
