Latroya Darrell Finishes 2nd in NCAA Qualifier
With the NCAA Indoor Championships a week away, Bermudian Latroya Darrell took part in a NCAA Qualifier finishing second overall with a leap of 12.70m which came on her final attempt.
Ms Darrell took part in the Virginia Tech Final Qualifier, competing in the Women’s Triple Jump along with Jasmine Brunson who attends Clemson.
She finished 2nd overall with a leap of 12.70m which came on her final attempt. Her first attempt saw her jump 12.29m, before jumping 12.66m on her second attempt. She fouled on her third attempt and then leaped 12.35 on her fourth, another foul on the 5th attempt saw her needing to leap more than 13.38m to win, but her 12.70m was good enough for second place. Jasmine Brunson had three fouls and was disqualified from the competition.
