Murder Trial: Witness Details Myer’s Background

March 21, 2011

antonio myers 2This afternoon [Mar.21], in the Antonio Myers murder trial case, the jury listened to a statement from the mother of Antonio Myer’s child that detailed family relationships.

30-year-old Kumi Harford was killed at around 5am on St. Monica’s Road on December 5th, 2009. Antonio Myers, 25, of Rambling Lane, Pembroke was charged with the murder in May, 2010, charges which he denies.

During the trial, a Police officer previously identified the defendant Antonio Myers as a high-ranking member of the Middletown gang, and the victim to be a high ranking member of the 42nd gang

A statement from the mother of Antonio Myer’s daughter, an employee at the Bank of Butterfield, said that she had known Mr Myers from eight years ago and had a child from him. Her statement was that Mr Myers had never held a job and lived with his mother, sleeping on a couch in the living room and storing his clothes in a pumproom.

Her statement described a short period when, just before her daughter was born, she moved out from her mother’s house to live at Crossland’s Lane in Pembroke. During this time, she said that Mr Myers lived with her but never paid any rent. Her statement said that she later went back to her mother and lived in a downstairs apartment at her mother’s; but Mr Myers did come around and visit his daughter.

Her statement spoke of the time around the shooting of Kumi Harford. Her ststement was that she heard of the shooting and thought it was another gang shooting. The statement that she went to wash clothes at her mother’s house and that this was a routine activity. On that morning, when she went to wash clothes, she said that it seemed as if Mr Myers had just gotten out of bed.

Her statement said that she never discussed the shooting with Mr Myers. Other information from this statement was that she knew that Mr Myers was planning to go to Jamaica on “the charter” and that she heard that his name was being linked to the killing of Kumi Harford. On Saturday 19th December 2009, she learned that he had gone to Jamaica. On the Charter flight’s return, she learned that Mr Myers had been arrested at the LF Wade airport.

After three or four days, she was called to sign a surety for Mr Myers, she did so, and he was released from custody.

She said, in her statement, that Mr Myers was a person who got mad very quickly, held a grudge, and was angry about his father whom he had never known. She said that Mr Myers used to use her Suzuki bike but that she stopped him from that.

When she wanted to speak to Mr Myers, she called him on his mother’s cellphone; and he, in turn, not owning a phone, used his friend’s cellphones to call or speak to her.

The trial continues. For previous coverage of the trial click here.

High ranking gang member living with his mother on her couch his clothes in the pump house and not owning his own cell phone and the benefits of being in the gang is ?????

    • FOR REAL???? says:

      WHERE ARE THE FATHERS????

Ladies, stop making babies for the sake of making babies – they need to be raised by both parents; A mother and A father. A woman cannot raise a BOY to be a MAN, this is a result of that. FATHERS NEED TO MAN UP AND RAISE YOUR SONS/DAUGHTERS UP RIGHT. But than again, WOMEN need to choose wisely who they be having kids with….the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree – A bad seed produces bad fruit!!!

Wise up Bermuda and get back to the basic fundamentals.

  2. Grizz says:

Eve said it in her song “Love is Blind”…he didn’t do anything for his daughter, she knew of his connection to the shooting, he was quick to anger and hold grudges but you signed his surety….SMH (shake my head)…

    • Grizz says:

oh and how could I forget…..HE WAS AWAY WITH ANOTHER CHICK!!! HELL NO! He should have gotten her to sign his surety

  3. SOMERSET OG says:

Dead beat dad being a wall lizard! What a life! Where do I sign up? I’d like to waste my life too!
No job, no phone, no bike or car, no class! If he is in fact a high ranking member of a gang and that broke I’d hate to see how the foot soldiers in his gang live. He even failed at being a gangster.
The benefits of being in a gang is either dying, going to jail and definitely being a loser in the long run. Tattoo a big L on your heads! Worthless!

  4. DARRIN DIZZLE says:

What a shame! Wasting his life doing nothing and being nothing. I was married and just purchased my first home by the age of 30. What do people get out of loafing around? Take care of your child before she grows up to find a lazy bum like you to ruin her life too. Antonio didn’t know his father so now he does the same thing to his child? I bet you have money for beer and weed but then you can’t find any to take care of the more important things in life? I hope you get your act together after this debacle! You see where your lifestyle got you! Where are your homies now? Are they going to support you in jail?

  5. SOMERSET OG says:

I bet you his momma had to buy him a suit for court! He looks like he was getting ready to be in a St. Patrick’s Day parade.

  6. Just Yell says:

Bermuda surely has become another world. Momma’s allowing their grown boys to continue to latch on to the cradle without any responsibility’s what so ever…
And now you have younger women thinking this is the norm by hanging on to a man who has no intentions of doing nothing with his life.
I’ve seen it all to much…

  7. SMH 2011 says:

Has it came to mind that all of whats being said from the mother is irrelevant to this case??? makes a person wonder huh?? what was the purpose of even broadcasting her initial statement?? as its just an exposure of their personal relationship, which is un-beneficial to the case..keep in mind that they seemed to have a unstable relationship seen that he was cheating with another young lady, who in this case they should be questioned…and exactly Grizz it was the mistress who was at the airport ((secretively)) with the baby moma not knowing of and yes she may have been silly for bailing the coward out but prob in hopes of him seeing there child was her motive.keeping in mind she was mad with of him missing the childs bday. Seems as if her concern was of the childs happiness not of his freedom to be a hodlem

    • Can you handle this says:

That’s what I was thinking…Why broadcast her statement..unless it was to prove that the “Gang Expert” was wrong in his statement about him being a high profile gang member..No Phone, gotta borrow ya ace boys, No money, can’t or don’t pay rent (but you could take a trip with ya outside “boo”)Live at home with ya momma..high profile gang member in what? “The I don’t have nothing going on with myself club” are you for real….just exposing peoples personal business..

    • Grizz says:

@SMH…I am hearing you but if he hadn’t been doing anything all that time, and then THEY were supposed to go Jamaica together but didn’t, he ends up going with another girl….what made you think that all of a sudden when he returns from Jamaica he will decide to be in the child’s life. False hope, and I guess I can’t knock her for wishing but he definitely would have to find another surety. Gotta remember if he skipped bail she would be left holding the bag to pay Government back that bail money.

These cats is lost they watch too much rap videos…. he’s mc hammer…. too legit to quit….

  9. mind your business says:
