Upcoming: 2011 BHPA Spring Show
The Bermuda Horse & Pony Association [BHPA] will be holding their annual Spring Show on Saturday, March 19th and Sunday, March 20th at the National Equestrian Centre, on Vesey Street in Devonshire.
The judge will be Cathy Kassel Geitner from Aiken, South Carolina. The course designer for the Jumping, Equitation over fences and Hunter classes will be Bermuda’s own Heidi Mello.
Both days will officially start at 8:00am, with Saturday kicking off with the Jumper classes starting at 0.7m (2’3”), followed by the Equitation over fences and the Lead Line and Walk & Trot, which always draw a big crowd of supporters. Sunday morning will start off with the Hunter Model classes for all three divisions, followed by the Hunter over fences and under saddle sections of the divisions.
The Open Medal class will show a true assessment of the skills of our hunter horses and ponies as they are asked to perform more difficult tests and then have to return to the ring for the flat phase. This will be followed by the Lead Line and Walk & Trot classes and then the two Riding Horse classes, the winners of both then have to ride off against each other for the Champion Riding Horse.
