After graduating high school with honours, she went to Bermuda College where she was nominated by faculty as a “spotlight student”, chosen to be a part of the 2010 Outstanding Student Awards Ceremony and awarded the Graham Lynn Memorial Scholarship.

She was on the honor roll throughout her entire time at the Bermuda College and earned her Associates Degree in Arts with distinction, graduating on the “President’s List.” She has applied to Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where she hopes to further her education and become a certified social worker.

The daughter of Karen Veronica Cannonier and David Bernell Cannonier, she participated in the volunteer Candy Striper Programme at King Edward VII Memorial and other community service activities including several breast cancer awareness campaigns.

She started dancing at the Russian School of Ballet Dance at the age of  five but in her late teens decided to take a few years off. Recently, though, she has returned to ballet.

During her dancing years, Ms Cannonier appeared in numerous local performances and danced on several occasions with professional ballerinas who had flown in from overseas to perform.

She has always been interested in print modeling and has already participated in a number of small shoots. Ms Cannonier said, “If provided the opportunity to model for local stores in Bermuda, I would graciously take the offer.”

Ms Cannonier said, “If I were so blessed as to win the title of  ’Miss Bermuda’, the message I would like to send to the wider Bermuda community is to ‘commit to the journey and rise above the negative influences’. Often times many persons lose vision of their goals in life due to life’s many adversities and as a result they may succumb to their hardships and negative influences.”

“Thus, through my example, I would like to enforce the message to my community to keep pushing, never give up or succumb to weakness, and to never lose sight of your goals. I am hoping that setting the bar high for myself will in return allow me to help set the bar high for my community and its future generations.”

Sixteen young ladies will compete for the title of Miss Bermuda on June 12 at the Fairmont Southampton. Tickets, which range from $65 to $125, are available here on Bdatix.bm.

I don’t have anything to say on this one! What you said is true – very classy! But in my opinion, she doesn’t look any more classy than the last girl.

      • United says:

Hi, how you doin’? I never evr mentioned that Kalvilicia did not look classy. She is a very sexy woman.

  2. United says:

Bermuda will do well with her representation. Props to mom and dad for tremendous up bringing if I could say that.

  3. Watch & Enjoy says:

Good luck on your journey!!! A well spoken and confident young lady with ambition! Great to see. Its about time we focused on someone young and positive instead of the handfull of idiots out there trying to ruin things for us all. I lived in Town Hill Flatts and was a neighbour of the Swainson family (Miss World) and you remind me a lot of her.

  4. Toya says:

  7. BombsAway says:

    +1 for the Photographers Assistant.

  8. LOL (original) says:

I think she will win if not be in the top three.

    LOL

  9. White Jesus says:

Very well spoken young lady. She comes off as genuine and that is the most important thing. I also must say that I am still VERY disgusted by this culture of valuing women for their sexuality and skin instead of their intelligence and spirit. Treating women like pieces of meat and parading them up and down is oppression of femininity

  10. jojo says:

as a pageant enthusiast, i believe she should win, remember the winner is representing Bermuda to Miss World after so many years and if Bermuda should make a come back to international pageant it should choose the best body, beauty and brains candidates.
