Man Charged With Assaulting 12-Yr-Old Niece
In Magistrates’ Court this morning [May 17], a 23-year-old man pleaded not guilty to one charge of unlawful assault causing bodily harm; and not guilty to another charge of unlawfully causing damage to a car. He pleaded guilty to a third charge of unlawfully damaging a glass computer table.
The charges arose from an incident on 30th January 2011 between the man charged and a young girl who is the complainant and who, the Magistrate was told, is 12 years old and is the niece of the man charged.
The man was bailed for $2,000 with surety and was ordered to have no contact with the complainant. Trial was set for 6th June.
