May 24th Race: Premier Cox Cheers Husband On

Premier Paula Cox was at Bernard Park yesterday [May 24]  cheering on a field of hundreds of runners as they completed the 13.1-mile Half Marathon Derby course.

But she was there in a personal as well as an official capacity. Ms Cox’s husband, Cameroon-born businessman Germain Nkeuleu [pictured below], participated in the Somerset-to-Hamilton race and received an extra burst of applause from the Premier when he crossed the finish line.

Defending champion Chris Estwanik won the Bermuda Day Race for the fourth consecutive year with Lamont Marshall coming in second and Sean Trott placing third. Deon Breary won the women’s race with Victoria Fiddick in second place and Karen Smith crossing the finishing line third.
