Top BSX Officials Visit The Virgin Islands

1BSXTwo Bermuda Stock Exchange officials visited the Virgin Islands on Tuesday [May 17], informing the Caribbean island chain’s  financial services community how the exchange operates and why they would like to do more business in the region.

Greg Wojciechowski, the BSX’s chief executive officer, and James McKirdy, chief compliance officer, made a presentation on the Bermuda Exchange to an audience at the Treasure Isle Hotel.

Mr. Wojciechowski said the primary purpose of the trip was to thank VI firms for the business they are already conducting with the Bermuda exchange. The BSX currently lists 69 Virgin Islands-registered funds and four debt issuances and Mr Wojciechowski said he believes the potential exists to strengthen business ties between the two off-shore financial centres.
