BBFS Raises $8,200 In Raffle Draw

Bermuda’s Brazilian Football School [BBFS] in partnership with; The Whitney Institute Middle School, West Pembroke Primary School, Somerset Primary School and BBFS members held a Raffle draw on Saturday June 11th at the Whitney Institute Middle School.

The significance of this fund-raiser was that each participating school was afforded the opportunity to sell and retain 50% of the proceeds raised by their respective schools. The remaining 50% would be allocated to BBFS for the Annual Football/Cultural Educational Tour. The support of BBFS members and partner schools has seen the total amount collected thus far reach $17,000.00.

The total amount of the raffle proceeds raised via the schools was $8,200.00 of which $4,100.00 has been allocated as follows:

• West Pembroke Primary School $ 850.00
• Somerset Primary School $ 1,250.00
• The Whitney Institute Middle School $ 2,000.00
• Total Funds Awarded to the schools $ 4,100.00

The BBFS Cultural/Education Football tour of 2011 will see the U10, U12 boys and U13 girls tour Holland and the UK.

A spokesperson said, “BBFS is also pleased to announce that a U13 girl’s football team will be part of this experience, hereby advancing our equal opportunities philosophy, similar to the NCAA Collegiate regulations in the USA.”

“BBFS wishes to thank the; schools, parents/guardians, students and the greater community for supporting our raffle and we look forward to partnering with other interested schools for our 2012 Raffle fund-raiser.”
