BIU Accept 1.65% Wage Increase

Yesterday [June 23] BIU President Chris Furbert confirmed that the membership accepted a 1.65% wage increase, which works out to approximately $17 a week extra. Following a meeting with the membership, Mr Furbert confirmed the wage agreement and said”there will be no industrial action at in relationship to the 21 day notice that we served back on the Ministry on June 2nd.”

    I am sorry but the union and government are out of touch.
    Most people in the private sector have not received a wage increase in a few years!!

    Government is borrowing money to pay its bills now , how can they pay out more . I guess to fire more people . I’m sorry for my cousin’s who will lose their jobs because of this increase .
