Marion To Bermuda Race Starts Tomorrow

The Marion to Bermuda Cruising Yacht Race will start tomorrow [June 17] in Buzzards Bay off Marion, Massachusetts and finish off St. David’s Head, Bermuda.

The Marion Bermuda has been sailed in alternate years since 1977, and covers the 645 miles between Marion and Bermuda. This year over 50 boats have entered the race.

One of the smallest boat registered for the race is a Westsail 32, Patchwork, owned by Robert Mitchell of Stratford, Connecticut. On the larger side of the scale, the largest boats entered are the two 67-footers are entered in the race: Illusion, owned by Gerald Rosen of the British Virgin Islands; and Voyager, sailed by Geraldo Rivera of Marion.
