A spokesperson said, “Supporters have the ability to take part in Purple Tag Days – an effort to raise awareness that many cancers are preventable, early detection saves lives and that support for survivors, family and friends is available. ”

“Simply wear your favourite purple dress, tie or shirt and help inspire others to take action. Look for our volunteers over this two day period and pledge your support by making a donation and proudly wearing your purple tag.”

“Each year over 250 people volunteer an hour or two to accept donations, handout tags and spread the word of hope and support. Many volunteers give their time for very personal reasons as their lives have been touched by cancer in some way. ”

“Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre offer these volunteers our thanks and gratitude, if it were not for them we would not be able to accomplish all that we do.”
