3-Day Gospel Music Festival Announced

It was announced today [July 14], Bermuda will host its first ever gospel music festival, the Dr. Bobby Jones Presents The 2011 Bermuda Gospel Festival. The three-day event takes place in the Victualling Yard at the Royal Naval Dockyard on August 25 – 27 and boasts a heavenly performance lineup of gospel music’s legends and bright stars. Gospel music veteran Dr. Bobby Jones will host each unforgettable evening which promises to draw thousands of tourists and gospel music lovers from across the world to Bermuda, the island of beautiful pink sand beaches.

The 2011 Bermuda Gospel Festival features a stellar lineup of today’s favorite gospel artists that are slated to take the stage with live performances. Gospel heavyweights Fred Hammond, Mary Mary, Kim Burrell, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Karen Clark Sheard, Kiki Sheard, Vashawn Mitchell, Y’Anna Crawley, Jessica Reedy, Leandria Johnson are scheduled to make music performances. The gospel music festival will also showcase the “Divine Voices Vocal Competition” that spotlights the vocal talent of local Bermudians and other fun-filled onsite activities and local vendors.

The Gospel Festival is produced and directed by organizers, Kevin Bean and Dale Jackson. “We are extremely excited to bring the ‘Dr. Bobby Jones Presents The 2011 Bermuda Gospel Festival’ to Bermuda,” said event organizers, Kevin Bean and Dale Jackson. “Hosting this inaugural gospel festival here marks Bermuda as the perfect destination for high-quality, star-studded entertainment that is combined with the vibrant beauty and culture of Bermuda. We look forward to serving as the “bridge” that connects our beautiful island to thousands of gospel music lovers and tourists across the world.”

The 2011 Bermuda Gospel Festival will also feature a unique gospel singing competition – the Divine Voices Competition where local Bermuda singers can vie for a host of prizes including an opportunity to appear on the Bobby Jones show and a [1] one song recording deal.

The Gospel Festival also offers live streaming of all festival dates for those gospel fans who are unable to attend the three-day festivities.

    This is what the island needs! I am soo excited about this event and thankful to God and the promotors for putting this together. The artists are some of my favorites and I know this show will allow us to have so much fun while Glorifying God! Well done to the promoters! I hope this turns into a yearly event!
