Basketball: Bermuda Win Again, Beat Guyana

basketball generic ballFor the second consecutive game, Bermuda overcame a double digit deficit in the first quarter to win during the Caribbean Men’s Senior Basketball Championships taking place in the Bahamas.

Bermuda came from 13 points down in the first quarter to defeat Guyana 68 – 58, Guyana outscored Bermuda 19 – 6 in the first quarter, but Bermuda bounced back to score 19 points in the second quarter and only allowed Guyana 14 points as the teams went to the break with the score 33 – 25 to Guyana.

Bermuda outscored Guyana 21 – 20 in the third quarter before blowing Guyana away in the final quarter 22 – 5 in the final quarter.

Jason Lowe lead the team in scoring with 29 points, while Sullivan Phillips added 15 points, Tejour Riley, Dean Jones and Phillips all grabbed 9 rebounds, while Phillips had 8 assist, Lowe had 3 steals, while Steven Simons, Riley and Phillips all had 2 steals each.

    We were the smallest team, slowest team, had the least amount of experance and play the least basketball of all the teams there…
    BUT we were the BEST TEAM and played with the biggest hearts.. Finished with a 4-2 record, that is better than the team who finished 4th and the same record as 3rd
