Westgate Inmate Hospitalized After Assault

A 51-year-old prison inmate is listed in stable condition after being hospitalized following an assault at the Westgate Correctional Facility on Monday [Aug.22].

A police spokesperson said, “Around 8:20am on Monday, August 22nd, police received a report of an assault at the Westgate Correctional Facility.”

“It appears that one male inmate attacked another. As a result the 51 year old victim was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.”

“At last check he was in stable condition on a general ward. Detectives from the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit are continuing their inquiries into this matter.”

    This is sounding like altercations in U.S. prisons or even 3rd world countries. I can see why the guards need better pay and more training on how to handle these gang members and other bad criminals. The best solution is to put them on an island in the middle of know where where they have to fend for themselves and try to get along. Rescue in not in the cards- their lives will be spent there.
