2011 TechWeek Awards Nominations Open

September 1, 2011

Members of the public can participate in the 2011 Technology Innovation Awards by nominating their favourite individuals or companies who are using technology in pioneering ways to make a difference in Bermuda.

Nominations will be accepted between now and September 16th. Visit www.techweek.bm to submit your nomination.

The Technology Innovation Awards, or TechAwards, publicly recognise the outstanding achievements being made in Bermuda’s information technology industry. Further, the goal is to motivate and encourage more development of the sector through academic, industry and charitable pursuits. TechAward winners should be based in Bermuda and have a solid reputation in the business community.

TechWeek was inaugurated in 2006 and is celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2011. The purpose of TechWeek has always been to reinforce that digital inclusion is not just about access, but understanding and using technology while leveraging its benefits, through providing activities and events to do just that.

The TechAwards, conducted as a part of TechWeek, represent the pinnacle of achievement for the use of technology in Bermuda.

A spokesperson said, “The world thrives on innovation and this competition has continuously shown that we can hold our head high on the international stage. It is important that we identify and publicize these achievements so that Bermuda obtains credit for its successes. The TechAwards are also intended to motivate and encourage more development in the sector.”
