Dudley Eve: Devonshire Cougars Beat PHC

The first game of this afternoon’s [Sept.17] double-header at Bernard Park saw Devonshire Cougars take the lead in the 9th minute when Che Brangman found the back of the net. The lead was doubled in the 15th minute when Lejaun Simmons scored.

Simmons gave the Devonshire Cougrs a 3 – 0 lead when he scored his second goal of the game in the 42nd minute.

The PHC Zebras pulled a goal back in the 55th minute through Aquino Grant, then Antwan Russell made it a one goal game when he scored for PHC in the 70th minute, however two minutes later Jamie Smith scored from close range to give the Devonshire Cougars a 4 – 2 lead.

Five minutes later Smith made it 5 – 2 to the Devonshire Cougars when he scored from close range, and then Kwame Steede hit the back of the net in the 82nd minute as the Devonshire Cougars came away with a 6 – 2 win.

Dandy Town Hornets 1 St. George’s Colts 1

In the second game, the Dandy Town Hornets and St. George’s Colts played to a 1 – 1 draw. Fabian Frankson gave the Dandy Town Hornets the lead in the first half, but that strike was cancelled out by St. George’s Colts forward Clay Darrell in the second half.
