Ignition Supports TLF Graduate Programme

September 9, 2011

Ignition Ltd., a leader in off-shore IT services, announced the graduation of Tilhan Chitrananda from the innovative internship programme from the Technology Leadership Forum (TLF). Ignition is proud to partner with TLF in its efforts to encourage Bermuda’s youth to become more interested in information technology (IT).

The Department of E-Commerce along with multiple private sector companies founded the TLF after identifying the need for qualified Bermudian talent in the information communications technology (ICT) field.

Ignition is part of a network of key influencers and leaders in the technology industry that forms the TLF. The prime objectives are to encourage dialogue, address issues, propose action steps, and to be a networking group amongst peers.

Tilhan Chitrananda, Ignition’s recent graduate of the TLF programme says “It’s been one of the most educational and rewarding experiences in my IT career so far. I learned so much about marketing myself as an IT professional, making improvements in the company I work for and reinforcing a positive reputation for myself and my company.”

“The course provided me with valuable opportunities, helping me broaden my understanding of the diversity of solutions available to organisations. Overall, I was provided with important insight on how IT works in industry and the various ways information is utilised, transferred, restricted, secured and appears while being delivered.”

Michael W. Branco, Senior Vice President if Ignition Bermuda spoke at the 2011 graduation event. In the keynote speech, Michael addressed the future of emerging technologies in Bermuda and the important role Bermudian technologists will play. Addressing the graduates, Michael stated “Despite Bermuda not having the most real-estate for massive data centres or being the best place for inexpensive bandwidth, Bermuda in itself provides a unique, self-contained testing ground for new technology. You should be the generation of Bermudian technologists implementing these technologies as early adopters. Proximity gives us the opportunity, wealth the means, size the petri dish and the background as innovators to be a country which can be seen as a centre for applied technology and innovation. I challenge you the TLF graduates of 2011 to be those innovators and get it done by 2020.”
