[Updated] The 2011 IFBB Central American and Caribbean [CAC] Bodybuilding Championships is underway this evening [Sept.24] in San Salvador. Bermuda has a team in, albeit smaller than expected due to provisional sanctions. Mr. Bermuda Garwin Phillips – the defending Caribbean Super Heavyweight Champion – and Figure Champion Sabrina Burgess are competing.

Update 10:34pm: Garwin Phillips has won a Gold medal, ‘Hail to Bermuda’ could be heard as he received his award. A screengrab from the live stream is below, Mr Phillips is on the left. It is not clear what division this is [the commentary is in Spanish] but we believe it may be the masters division.
