Woman’s Handbag Snatched By Two Men

A 43-year-old woman was walking in Devonshire yesterday [Sept.20] afternoon, when two men on a blue motorbike rode alongside her, snatching her purse in the process.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 12:30pm on Tuesday September 20, police attended a reported handbag snatch on Watlington Road East in Devonshire parish.”

“It appears that the victim, a 43 year old Devonshire woman was walking along Watlington Road East when two unknown men on a blue motorcycle rode alongside the victim, grabbing her handbag as they passed.”

“The black bag contained a cellular phone, wallet and personal items. The suspects fled the scene on their motorcycle heading east. The victim was not injured.”

“The rider of the motorcycle is described as a brown-skinned male in his early twenties wearing a dark coloured helmet and dark coloured clothing. The passenger is described as a brown-skinned male wearing a red t-shirt and a black helmet. Inquiries into this incident are underway”

“Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
