A Hamilton church is wishing Bermuda a merry Christmas … and all that jazz!
Next month the New Creation Worship Centre will host a Smooth Jazz Gospel Concert for Christmas.
This concert will feature Gospel recording artist Duawne Starling, Bermuda’s own Shine Hayward, and many other local artists.
After distinguishing himself as one of the top supporting vocalists in the music industry, Mr. Starling has launched a successful solo career. He has worked with artists such as Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Fred Hammond, Yolanda Adams, Nicole C. Mullen, Michael W. Smith, Dolly Parton, Michael McDonald, Kelly Price and countless others.
“I worked as a background artist for ten years before stepping forward as a soloist,” he said. “I had been vocally ready for years but when I assessed where I was vocally and compared it to where I was spiritually, the two did not measure up. It is important that I be mature in all areas, because the last thing this world needs is just another singer.”
Mr. Starling will be accompanied in Bermuda by a five-piece band from overseas who will perform Christmas carols and festive holiday music set to smooth jazz.
Local artists Shine Hayward, Sia Spence, Hamilton SDA Adoration & Praise, New Creation Anointed for Praise Dancers, and many others will also be featured.
The concert takes place at the Heritage Worship Centre on Dundonald Street in Hamilton
on Saturday, December 17 at 7:15pm
Tickets are $35 or $50 for patrons
