November 6, 2011

Aspiring teenage Bermuda rapper Jahroy Richards — who performs under the name Ja-Yon — isn’t afraid to try and fill some very big shoes, today  [Nov.6] releasing a music video to accompany his cover version of the chart-topping “Far Away.”

The original was an international hit earlier this year for superstar Tyga and “American Idol” finalist Chris Richardson

Describing himself as “an up-and-coming 15 year old rapper from the island of Bermuda who’s all about the music and making his way up”, the secondary school student’s Mister B-produced version of “It’s OK To Cry” recently went viral among Bermuda Facebook users when it was released as an on-line tribute to 18-year-old murder victim Malcolm Outerbridge.

The “Far Away” video was shot at various locations around the island and features the teen singer’s friend Caroline Araujo. The song was produced by No Talent Records.
