BOA Launches New Website

December 20, 2011

The Bermuda Olympic Association [BOA] today [Dec.20] officially launched its new website at www.olympics.bm. The site was unveiled to representatives of Bermuda’s various national sports governing bodies, and members and friends of the BOA at a reception yesterday.

The website boasts a fresh new look, and provides users with comprehensive information about the BOA, its programmes and committees, and Bermuda’s elite athletes.

The site also features timely news updates, including Bermudian athletes’ achievements in local and international competition, and links to official communications from the Pan American Sports Organization and the International Olympic Association.

The site provides countdowns to the start dates of the various international festivals in which Bermuda will compete, and provides access to ticketing and accommodation services for those interested in attending the festivals as spectators.

The new BOA website was designed by Cosmic Limited.

Judy Simons, President of the BOA, said, “A lot of work has gone into the new website and we’re very proud of it. It is our hope that the site will become one of the chief sources of information for those interested in learning more about Bermuda’s athletes and the various ways the BOA supports their journeys to success.”

Mrs. Simons added: “I truly believe the BOA’s new site is among the best National Olympic Committee sites, and I would like to thank and acknowledge Sean Collier and the team at Cosmic, who provided their site development expertise and services at a deep discount.”

Established in 1936, the BOA is the sole representative of the International Olympic Association, the Pan American Sports Organization, and the Commonwealth Games Federation, and oversees all matters pertaining to Bermuda and these international sporting Festivals.

The BOA liaises with the local national sport governing bodies to help identify elite athletes and to assist with and support their development so as to maximise their participation in the major festivals.
