Football: Premier, First, Corona, Ladies

A number of football games in various leagues took place across the island this past weekend [Dec.9/11], the results follow below:

First Division

Wolves 2 Devonshire Colts 2

At the Devonshire Rec. Sergio Richardson gave Wolves the lead in the 24th minute, Lozendro Symonds equalized for the Devonshire Colts in the 63rd minute. Vincent Minors Jr. put Wolves back in front with a goal on the 80th minute, but Symonds equalized for the second time in the game in the 88th minute as the two teams shared the points.

Somerset Eagles 2 Flanagan’s Onions 3

At the White Hill Field, visiting Flanagan’s Onion’s got goals from Phil Matthews, Simon Gregory and Keston Lewis as they defeated the Somerset Eagles 3 – 2. Oranthus Turner and Darin Dowling scored the goals for the home team.

Hamilton Parish 1 Young Men Social Club 3

At the Wellington Oval, visiting Young Men Social Club defeated Hamilton Parish 3 – 1. The visitors got goals from Robert Rawlins, Charmari Burns and Robert Somner, while the home team’s lone goal came from the penalty spot off the boot of Rodney Trott.

Prospect United 0 X’Road’s 2

At Police Field, visiting X’Road’s took the lead in the 16th minute when Mykal Ming scored, their lead was doubled in the 38th minute when Vic Ball scored against his former team Prospect United as X’Road’s won 2 – 0.

BAA 2 Paget Lions 1

At the BAA Field, Deigo McCallan gave BAA the lead, only to have Levi Smith equalize for the Paget Lions. Ian Simmons scored the BAA winner in stoppage time to earn them the three points.

Digicel Premier Division

North Village Rams 0 St. George’s Colts 1

At the Bernard Park the visiting St. George’s Colts got a 16th minute strike from Jarreau Hayward as they defeated the home team North Village Rams 1 – 0.

Corona League

Vasco 1 Valley 2

Sean Vickers and Anthony Webb scored a goal each as visiting team Valley defeated Vasco 2 – 1 at BAA Field in the first Corona League game of the day. Stefan Teleman scored the lone goal for the home team.

St. George’s Colts 5 North Village Rams 2

The St. Georges Colts got single goals from Sinclair Gibbons, Art Tyrell, Lionel Cann, Andy Williams and Rudell Pitcher as they defeated the North Village Rams 5 – 2, Nakia smith and Kyle Lightbourne scored a goal each for the North Village Rams.

Lobster Pot 0 Robin Hood 1

The lone goal of this game came from Lloyd Holder as Robin Hood defeated Lobster Pot 1 – 0.

BAA 4 Lock N Key 1

In the final Corona league game of the weekend, BAA defeated Lock N Key 4 – 1. Ross Nottingham, Adam Shaw, Chris Lima and Peter Coleman scored the goals for BAA, while Brian Irvine scored the lone goal for Lock N Key.

Women’s Futsal League

Robin Hood 5 North Village Lady Rams 3

The first Women’s Futsal League game of the night at the Bermuda College Gymnasium was between the two undefeated teams, with Robin Hood defeating the North Village Lady Rams 5 – 3. Robin Hood got three goals from Cheyra Bell and two from Precious Smith, while Whitnae Duerr, Tschana Wade and Naquita Robinson scored a goal each for the North Village Lady Rams.

PHC Lady Zebras 6 Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds 3

The PHC Lady Zebras got three goals from Aaliyah Nolan and single strikes from Kali Lespere, Waynesha Bean and Coyshea Fox as they defeated the Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds 6 – 3, Deborah Menezes, Sandra Medeiros and Satyrah Robinson scored a goal each for the Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds.
