Gun Possession: Sentencing Delayed

December 20, 2011

Yesterday afternoon [Dec.19] Gladstone Eugene Butterfield appeared for mention in Supreme Court, with his sentencing for possession of a firearm delayed pending a psychological report.

During last month’s Supreme Court arraignment session Mr Butterfield pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing a 9mm firearm on 25th July 2011.

After his arrest in July, a Police spokesman said, “Police responded to a report of a disturbance at a South Road, Southampton establishment. Police were alerted to a 26 year old Southampton man who was acting suspiciously.

“At the conclusion of a short vehicle pursuit, the man and his vehicle were detained and searched, following which a loaded firearm was seized. He was arrested and detained pending further police investigations. There were no injuries reported.”

Keep ya head up Butterfield. I watched you grow and I know you did not intend to take anyone’s life; fortunately it didn’t have to come down to that. It’s so sad to see a good young man labelled this way cause he did not think he had any other way to defend himself against thugs trying to rob what you got. He ain’t no Gunman just a young man that made the wrong choice to defend himself with the same weapon formed against him. Let the truth prevail. If you’ve got to do time keep ya head up and get it done and hopefully get back to living again. This gang warfare needs to end, cause innocent (not perfect)bystanders are being dragged into this bulls*/t. Sad times Bermy for real. Holding you up in prayer mate.
