Results Of 2011 Christmas Boat Parade

The force was with them.

Organisers of the Christmas Boat Parade held on Saturday [Dec.10] have named 25 winners for participating vessels in ten different categories with the grand prize, a round-trip airline tickets for two to the United States, going to John Carr’s “Star Wars”-themed entry.

Mr. Carr’s boat “Nomad” combined Christmas lights with lightsabers and a state-of-the-art sound system playing the movie series’ iconic theme music by composer John Williams.

The categories are: Best boat overall; Best boat under 25 feet; Best boat over 25 feet; Best sail boat; Best fishing boat; Best commercial boat; Best corporate entry; Best charity or church; Children’s choice award; Best use of lights; Most original; Most humorous; Best Christmas theme; Best crew costumes; Most confusing entry; The cutest entry; Best effort award; Best Bermuda X-mas theme; and Boat that looks the most fun to be aboard.

    One unfortunate thing about boat parades is that participants don’t really get a chance to see each other.

    Oh yeah, everyone gets a DVD but that is not the same.

    JMO, but it might be nice to reroute so that they can see each other (I have an idea how that can be done without crossing paths) & create a whole new prize catagory: Best as judged by participants.
