Text Your Vote For Miss Teen Bermuda
Miss Teen Bermuda Shaunte Simons is presently in St. Kitts, scheduled to represent Bermuda in the 32nd Annual Digicel Haynes Smith Miss Talented Teen Competition to be held tomorrow [Dec.29].
The contest has a text message voting portion, and Bermudians can send a text message to help Ms Simons in her quest to win the Miss Photogenic Title.
The 18-year-old is a graduate of Saltus Grammar School, and plans to study law at the University of West England. While in high school, she was involved in the Youth Parliament, National Youth Council, Youth Peace Builders, Youth News, Youth Net Mentoring Program, Prom Committee, the Student Council and represented Bermuda at a Youth United Nations Conference in New York as the lead debater.
In August 2011, she won the Miss Teen Pageant, while the 4th runner up was Miss Pembroke Allana Bean, the 3rd runner up was Miss St. George’s East Tabia Butterfield, 2nd runner up was Miss Smiths Siairah Minors, and the 1st runner up was Miss St George’s West Kayla Furbert.

This year’s pageant will feature 12 countries: Miss USVI – Bailey Dukes; Miss Anguilla – Keivanee Lake; Miss Antigua & Barbuda – Aaliyah Thomas; Miss Bahamas – Monesha Bowleg; Miss Barbados – Sacha Clarke; Miss Bermuda – Shaunte Simons; Miss BVI – Ashellica Fahie; Miss Grenada – Kande Duncan; Miss Jamaica- Aba Sykes; Miss Nevis – Erica Doras; Miss St. Lucia – Kadijha Mason; and Miss St. Kitts -Siobhan Phipps. The contest has a ‘text-voting’ portion, with the ‘Miss Photogenic’ and ‘Most Likely to Win the Competition’ titles to be awarded based on text voting.
The contestant who get the most number of text messages with the code P441 will be awarded the title of Miss Photogenic and the contestant who gets the most number of text messages with the code W441 will be awarded the title of Most likely to Win the competition.
