Upcoming: PLP Open Mic Night

December 22, 2011

Next Wednesday [Dec.28] the Progressive Labour Party will be hosting a ‘Open Mic Night’ at Shine’s House of Music.

A statement released by the PLP said, “Premier and Progressive Labour Party Leader the Hon. Paula A. Cox JP, MP invites all Bermudians between 18 and 30 to “Real Talk with the Premier” – an informal open mic session to be held Wednesday, December 28 at Shine’s House of Music & Entertainment from 6p.m. to 9 p.m.

“The PLP Open Mic Sessions with the Premier were first organised in 2007 to give young people the opportunity to join their peers in an exchange of ideas and information with the Leader of the Country.

“The current Leader, Premier Cox is pleased to host her first such session and is looking forward to hearing the concerns as well as the suggestions of Bermuda’s future leaders.”

Premier Cox commented “I am delighted to continue this tradition of hosting an open mic event, and I look forward to engaging with Bermuda’s young people.

“The event is over the holidays and it is hoped that our students who spend most of the year abroad, will be able to attend. There are serious topics to discuss, but hopefully by the end of the evening we’ll have a little time to relax and celebrate the holiday season.”

In addition to the discussion, Claire Ann Marie Decouto will give a live performance. Gate prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be served
