British Airways Offers Seat Sale
British Airways is offering a seat sale for residents of Bermuda travelling to the UK between February 28th and May 21st 2012, with an average saving of $200 on the cost of a ticket to London.
Bermuda Manager Marianne Wilcox said “We know that many of our customers have been waiting for this and we are delighted to announce a seat sale that can be booked from tomorrow, February 28th until March 8th 2012.
“World Traveller (economy) round trip fares from Bermuda to London for the winter period (March 1 – April 1) will begin at $373, a $200 saving off the current fare. Taxes and fees are $504 which make the total cost $877 for a mid week journey. For weekends there is an additional cost of $50.
“These fares are quoted for the winter season and rise for the spring season. Spring fares (April 2- May 21) begin at $550 before tax. World Traveller Plus is also included in this sale with mid week winter fares beginning at $773 before tax, rising to $950 for the spring period.
She continued, “This is a good time to travel to the UK and we expect this sale to be very popular. It is the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year and football, cricket and sporting events are all in full swing, building up to the Summer Olympics.
“It is important to note that this is just for travel originating in Bermuda. These fares require a seven day advance purchase and are non-refundable . There is a minimum stay of a Saturday night and changes can be made for a cost of $275. Normal fare rules apply.”
British Airways is presently operating its winter schedule of five weekly flights. The summer schedule commences on Sunday March 25, when flights will operate daily.

So why are they are charging FOUR Times the price for the actual ticket and NY to London is further than Bda to London. Taxes are more but the ticket is $103 each way!
Because there is no competition that’s why.
Also, she mentions the Diamond Jubilee as a reason to get this sale price. The sale expires may 21st two weeks before the Jubilee celebrations start in June!
