Over the weekend a number of First and Premier Division football games took place across the Island.

First Division

Final Result: Flanagan’s Onions 1 Hamilton Parish 3

At the BAA Field, De’ von Rogers gave the visiting Hamilton Parish the lead in the 4th minute when his right footed shot curled into the net. The visitors lead was doubled in the 53rd minute through an own goal. Keston Lewis pulled a goal back for the home team Flanagan’s Onions in the 75th minute but Kai Hollis restored the Hamilton Parish two goal lead with a strike in the 89th minute.

Final Result: X’Roads 0 Young Men Social Club 1

After a scoreless first half at the Garrison Field, Menelik Rudo scored for visiting Young Men Social Club in the 84th minute from the penalty spot to defeat X’Roads.

Final Result: Ireland Rangers 0 Prospect United 1

At Malabar, Prospect needed a 82nd minute header from Dennis Joell at the near post from a corner to defeat Ireland Rangers 1 – 0.

Final Result: Devonshire Colts 8 Paget Lions 0

Zuri Darrell gave the Devonshire Colts the lead in the 10th minute with Terry Foote doubling the home team’s lead in the 44th minute. One minute later Darrell scored his second goal of the game to make the half time score Devonshire Colts 3 Paget Lions 0. In the 48th minute Lozendro Symonds put the Devonshire Colts ahead 4 – 0 when he scored from the penalty spot. Darrell then completed his hat-trick with a goal in the 52nd minute. Keimo Gardener scored for the Devonshire Colts in the 59th minute and then Darrell scored his fourth in the 65th. Robert Williams closed out the Devonshire Colts scoring in the 83rd minute.

Digicel Premier Division

Final Result: Dandy Town Hornets 3 PHC Zebras 2

In a top of the table clash at the St. John’s Field, Lonnie Bascome gave the PHC Zebras the lead in the 15th minute. Three minutes later Damon Ming equalized for the Dandy Town Hornets from the penalty spot. Raymond Beach gave the Dandy Town Hornets a 2 – 1 lead when he scored in the 54th minute but then the league’s leading goalscorer Antwan Russell equalized for the PHC Zebras in the 82nd minute. Just when it seemed as if the two teams would share the spoils, Brandon Minors scored the winner for the Dandy Town Hornets in the dying minutes.

Final Result: Southampton Rangers 1 St. David’s 1

After a scoreless first half at the Southampton Oval, Fiqre Crockwell gave visiting St. David’s the lead when he converted from the penalty spot in the 66th minute but two minutes later, the score was leveled when Kemon Simmons scored for the home team Southampton Rangers. Neither team could find the back of the net for the remainder of the game as they shared the points.

At the Somerset Cricket Club the Boulevard Blazers did not show up for their rescheduled Premier Division match against the Somerset Trojans.
