A number of football games took place this past weekend across the island – the results are below along with photos of the St. George’s Colts vs Boulevard Blazers game.
Ireland Rangers 3 Paget Lions 3
At Malabar, the Paget Lions went in front in the 7th minute when Edison Clarke scored. Jerome Codrington equalized for the home team Ireland Rangers in the 52nd minute and four minutes later the home team went in front through an own goal. Rayki Emory equalized for the visiting Paget Lions in the 76th minute. Ireland Rangers then took a 3 – 2 lead in the 84th minute when Jessie Mills scored but two minutes later the Paget Lions drew level when Danzil Smith found the back of the net as the two teams shared the points.
Somerset Eagles 6 Devonshire Colts 5
At the White Hill Field, the Somerset Eagles got two goals from Tristan Smith and Darin Dowling as they defeated the Devonshire Colts 6 – 5. Lakaim Lowe and Kyle Williams added a goal each for the home team while Giovanni Saltus scored twice for the Devonshire Colts. Lozendro Symonds, Terry Foote and Enrique Wilkin added a goal apiece for the visitors.
Hamilton Parish 1 Prospect United 0
At the Wellington Oval, both teams struggled with the conditions as a Marcel Dill second half strike settled this contest as Hamilton Parish defeated Prospect United 1 – 0.
Digicel Premier Division
St. George’s Colts 6 Boulevard Blazers 3
At the Wellington Oval the St. George’s Colts took full advantage of the wind at their backs when Jahron Dickinson scored in the first minute. Jarazinho Bassett doubled the St. George’s Colts lead in the 18th minute when he scored from the edge of the box. The Boulevard Blazers pulled a goal back in the 23rd minute when Sergio Robinson scored a header from close range past St. George’s Colts goalkeeper Charles Marshall III to make it 2 – 1.
Allan Douglas Jr. then beat the offside trap to restore the St. George’s Colts two goal lead when he scored in the 31st minute. Dickinson scored his second goal of the game after playing a give and go with David Signor in the 34th minute. Dickinson then completed his hat-trick when he scored directly from a corner in the 40th minute to make the score 5 – 1.
Melchisedec Gibbons pulled a goal back for the Boulevard Blazers when he scored from a free kick on the edge of the box in the 42nd minute. The Boulevard Blazers then made it 5 – 3 when Shenouda Outerbridge found the back of the net in the 59th minute but Douglas then scored his second goal of the game to give the St. George’s Colts the 6 – 3 win.
PHC Zebras 2 North Village Rams 1
At the Southampton Oval, Rakeem DeShields gave the home team PHC Zebras the lead in the 9th minute. Sammy DeGraff equalized for the North Village Rams with a goal four minutes later. Cecoy Robinson scored the PHC Zebras winner in the 80th minute as they earned a 2 – 1 win over the North Village Rams.
Dandy Town Hornets 2 St. David’s 0
At the St. John’s Field, the Dandy Town Hornets got first half goals from Lynn Tucker and Angelo Simmons as they defeated visiting St. David’s 2 – 0.
Robin Hood 0 Devonshire Cougars 1
After a scoreless first half at the BAA Field, Kori Goddard scored the only goal of the game in the 48th minute as the visiting Devonshire Cougars defeated Robin Hood 1 – 0.
