Western Churches Unite: Family Night

February 1, 2012

The Sandys 360 Sports, Aquatic & Enrichment Centre will host ‘The Western Churches Unite – A Family Night’ plans to host this Saturday evening, 4th February.

It is designed to bring the youth and adults of the seven Churches together to engage in friendly competition, recreation and social contact.

Mixed teams of genders, youth and adults will compete in events such as swimming, chess, checkers, basketball, indoor football and table-tennis. Each participating team will accumulate points that will be be totaled. The winning Church will be presented with the 2012 plaque and will be reigning champions until next year’s competition.

For those too little to compete, there will be a fun castle available for them to enjoy. There will be fish & chicken & chips dinners on sale and other refreshments to help support a fundraiser for the Sandys 360 Scholar/Athlete Arts Leadership Academy students’ College Tour.

The Family Night is part of Sandys 360’s goal to help mobalize the churches to begin to collectively address some of the factors that are negatively impacting the young people and the community. A follow-up meeting is planned at a future time to pray, discuss, strategize and plan to collectively address some of the negative issues impacting the westend community.

The vision of the 360 Sandys Sport, Aquatic and Enrichment Centre is to help provide a caring, nurturing community where diverse programs exist to support the growth of a healthy, safe and harmonious society. The Saturday evening programme begins at 6:30 p.m. and all are invited.
