Alterra Appoints Dan Gamble As EVP
Bermuda re/insurer Alterra Capital Holdings Limited yesterday [Mar.29] announced the appointment of Daniel G. Gamble as Executive Vice President of the Professional Liability Group of Alterra US Insurance. The Professional Liability Group will include the Executive Liability and Professional Liability underwriting units of Alterra US Insurance.
Doug Worman, Chief Executive Officer of Alterra US Insurance and Executive Vice President of Alterra Capital Holdings, commented: “The development of the Professional Liability Group has enabled us to optimize the strengths of our US Executive Liability and Professional Liability operations by bringing them together to form a single unit.
“The Professional Liability Group has a deep bench of underwriting talent that will be led by Dan Gamble, an experienced and skilled professional with an impressive track record in this business. With the new structure, we believe we will be well positioned to serve Alterra’s expanding professional liability client base in the US through wholesale and retail distribution on both admitted and non-admitted bases.”
Dan Gamble, who joined Alterra USA in 2010 as Managing Director, has more than 17 years experience in professional liability underwriting. He was previously Executive Vice President, Executive Assurance with Arch Insurance Group.
Prior to joining Arch in 2002, Mr. Gamble served as an Assistant Vice President in the Financial Institutions underwriting department for Hartford Financial Products Group and as an underwriter for the Financial Institution Group at Gulf Insurance Company. He is a Member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Plymouth State University.
