Traffic Delays On Palmetto Road

[Updated] Due to a two vehicle collision along Palmetto Road in Devonshire this morning [Mar.7], a section of that road has been temporarily closed to traffic.

At 7.20am a police spokesperson said, “Due to a two vehicle collision along Palmetto Road in Devonshire, a section of that road has been closed to traffic while inquiries into the incident are carried out. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes in the meantime and their cooperation is appreciated.”

Update 8.45am: A police spokesperson said, “The section of Palmetto Road in Devonshire closed due to a two vehicle collision earlier has since been reopened to normal traffic flow.”

Update 1.23pm: A police spokesperson said, “Around 7am on Wednesday March 7th, police and first responders attended a reported collision on Palmetto Road in Devonshire between a car and a motorcycle. It appears the vehicles were travelling along Palmetto Road when they collided near the junction with Aeolia Drive.

“The rider, a 33 year old Hamilton parish woman was injured and conveyed to KEMH via ambulance. The driver, a 68 year old Warwick woman was not injured. Both vehicles were damaged and there were traffic delays in the area as a result. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
