Good Friday Impaired Driving Arrests

Around 1:50 am on Good Friday [Apr. 6], police on mobile patrol on Trimingham Hill in Pembroke observed a motorcycle that was travelling in an erratic manner.

Officers stopped the motorcycle and approached the rider, a 48 year old Warwick woman, who appeared to be intoxicated.

The Warwick woman was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. She failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody as a result.

A court appearance is anticipated in due course.

Around 12 a.m. on Friday, police on mobile patrol along Kindley Field Road, St. George’s noticed a car driving erratically.

Officers stopped the car and approached the driver, a 60 year old Hamilton parish man, who appeared to be intoxicated.

The Hamilton parish man was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.

Over the long holiday weekend, police officers arrested 14 people for outstanding warrants. Officers also arrested a total of three people on suspicion of impaired driving and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island
