Upcoming: ISACA Lunch And Learn Seminar

April 16, 2012

ISACA, the Association of Information Systems Governance Professionals, in partnership with BCS – IBM Bermuda will be hosting its first seminar on Wednesday, April 25. This Lunch and Learn session on Cloud Computing security kicks off a series of educational seminars and workshops to be offered by the association throughout the year.

The ISACA Bermuda Chapter is one of over 190 ISACA chapters established in over 75 countries worldwide. Each chapter aims to provide its members education, resource sharing, advocacy, professional networking, and a host of other benefits. Members include information systems auditors, consultants, educators, information systems security professionals, regulators, chief information officers and internal auditors.

According to Mr. Andrew Kago [pictured], ISACA Bermuda Chapter President, “the partnership with IBM for this inaugural session is a first step towards a long term beneficial relationship between ISACA and IBM. ISACA gets the benefit of drawing from the extensive pool of expert knowledge resident within IBM to deliver interesting and insightful seminars for ISACA members on current hot topics. Looking into the future, ISACA and IBM will continue presenting outstanding speakers at our local events to tackle some of the key issues facing the IS governance professionals and the wider business community”.

Featured IBM speaker, Omkhar Arasaratnam, Global Lead Security Architect for IBM’s SmartCloud Enterprise, notes that “just the name “Cloud” often gets information security departments whipped into a frenzy, worried about data leakage and exposure of sensitive assets. In reality, Cloud computing is just another delivery model for IT. The presentation will provide a methodical view of how to approach security for Cloud computing, and what security professionals should be on the watch for.”

The Lunch and Learn session will be held from 11:30am to 1:00pm at Deloitte office’s Green Dot Room located at Corner House, 20 Parliament Street. For more information and to RSVP for this Lunch and Learn session (earn continuing education credits and free for ISACA members; $15 for non-members), email rsvp@isacabermuda.com.
