Cricket: Bailey’s Bay Win 2012 BELCO Cup

Bailey’s Bay won the 2012 BELCO Cup after defeating St. David’s yesterday [May 20] at Lord’s.

St. David’s Cricket Club and Bailey’s Bay had advanced to the BELCO Cup Finals after winning their semi final games on Saturday [May 19], with St. David’s defeating Willow Cuts, and Bailey’s Bay beating Devonshire Recreation Club.

Bailey’s Bay scored 147/9 in their allotted 50 overs and then they bowled St. David’s Cricket Club all out for 118. Stephen Outerbridge was their top scorer with 44, while Cal Dill added 24 and Rodney Trott scored 18, but it was the 10th wicket stand of 28 between Dennico Hollis and Burton Outerbridge that saw Bailey’s Bay from 119 to 147.

Sammy Robinson was the pick of the St. David’s Cricket Club bowlers with figures of 10-3-19-2, Rudell Pitcher returned figures of 10-1-21-2 and Delyone Borden bowled 10-1-27-2.

In reply St. David’s Cricket Club were bowled all out for 118, Clay Smith was their top scorer with 54, while Shea Pitcher was the only other batsman in double figures with 19. Kyle Hodsoll led the Bailey’s Bay bowling attack with figures of 8.3-1-26-4 and Rodney Trott bowled 8-2-11-3.
