Golf: BPGA Stroke Play Championship Day #2

May 23, 2012

The second day in the Bermuda Professional Golf Association Stroke Play Tournament was played yesterday [May 22] and proved to be another wet and windy affair. Chaka Desilva enjoyed the best round of the day shooting a 68(-2) which vaulted him into first place after 36 holes.

Desilva’s round consisted of 4 birdies and two bogeys and has been playing well enough to be the rightful leader to this point. The two tournament favourites continued to keep within reach of Desilva both sitting 3 stroke back.

Augustus had an up and down day but was fortunate to have 6 birdies to offset his 3 bogeys and a double to shoot 69(-1). Pearman birdied the final two holes to salvage a round he though was slipping away, to finish with a 72(+2). Moving in to 4th spot was Dwayne Gibson with a 74(+4) today 11 shots behind Desilva.
