Machete Wielding Men Commit Robbery In Sandys
Two people were robbed of items including a Blackberry after two men wielding a machete approached them in an area in Sandys parish. The assailants also damaged the victim’s car before escaping on foot.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 12:45am on Saturday, May 19th police attended a reported robbery in the Benny’s Bay Road, Sandys parish area.
“It appears that two unknown men brandishing bladed articles accosted a 52 year old Sandys parish woman and a 23 year old Sandys parish man.
“The suspects took a wallet containing personal items as well as a BlackBerry cellular phone. No one was injured during the incident; however prior to fleeing on foot, the suspects also damaged the 52 year old woman’s car.
“The suspects are described as 6′ tall wearing a grey hooded top with dark coloured jeans and 5’5″ tall wearing a black jacket with dark coloured jeans. An area search was conducted for the offenders, but they were not located.
“Inquiries are ongoing and anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the Benny’s Bay Road area between midnight and 12:45am Saturday is encouraged to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.”
Please BERNEWS..stop referring to them as MEN. Men are what young male children aspire to be someday. These are not men, they are sorry excusses for males.

i agree mate! theres no deterrent for these little punks, most of them end up getting off or just a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again.. send a clear and strong message is exactly what is needed. including prisoners up westgate, none of this kfc every friday bullsh!t. those guys whould be chained together and go end to end cleaning up bermuda and trimming trees.. beaches, public parks, roadsides, railway trails etc.

Its also worth noting that the second suspect (5’5″) is more than likely a female. Perhaps the same persons that robbed Serpentine Liquors

2 wrongs do not make a right. Some of us injuring another human even in self defense have great difficulty dealing with that act.Please. We have laws to help maintain order. Make use of them.
Trust me, my mother taught me that two wrongs don’t make a right and I would have been right in this instance. I think the public would agree Mbaya that my life was threatened and I needed to do what I did if it was me in this situation. You sound like these victims that let predators do what they want to you and then cry about it after the fact. TAKE A STAND AND BE COUNTED or end up a statistic!

Ok I live in the area actually a few houses down and at the time of the robbery this family was in their beds or the son was just getting home from work. And the car is NEW. The son had just bought it for his mom saved 2
3 years to buy it for her.
This family is very mild mannered and I guarentee the son was more concerned with protecting his mother then their possessions.
I guarentee you the people that did this knew who they were targeting.
This is a very quite and peaceful neighborhood and it breaks my heart to know that this has happened.
The young people who did this have no one to blame but themselves for their mindsets. Everyone has hardships, but to steal from someone because you don’t have the moral integrity to go and Work for what you want is sickening.
If you can’t earn it, just go and get it! That is the mentality today of the youth of Bermuda. Again, why don’t we implement laws that are shockingly harsh…if you steal, you will have your arms cut off! You WON’T do it again!
